I took a 4 month trip 1/2 way around the world. I span 360 degrees in each iconic location I was at. Eifel Tower, Big Ben, Pyramids etc It was the most amazing solo trip. Saw so much, learnt a heap and met some amazing people. I decided to capture as much of the trip in a creative way, morse so for myself so I wouldn’t forget the ride.
This was my first solo trip I had ever done. Im not gona lie, I was both excited and nervous all at the same time. I allowed 4mths of travel and had booked 3-4 flights to get the cheapest flights I could instead of waiting till last minute and blowing my budget. I had 1 nights accommodation booked in total and decided to ‘wing’ the rest.
My brother was a seasoned traveller and I drained his brains of as much information as I could. I had no idea, I was staying in hostels with random people I didn’t know if I could trust or even communicate with. I was a newbie. What do I do with me passport, my wallet, my phone…do I sleep with it under my pillow? Do I bring my own sleeping blanket. What happens if I miss my flight. How did I budget. I had so many questions running through my mind and I guess thats what makes you nervous…and the fact your leaving everything and now everything relies on you…yup everything.
Honestly, that 4mth trip changed my life. It was the best trip I had ever done, it was adrenaline, adventure, exploration, difficulties, friends, loved ones, cultures…I could go on and on right now but just take it from me. If you have never gone solo I’m gona be frank with you…you haven’t lived yet. Go live the adventure…(unless you have a family and kids, might be best to go on a family holiday and not disown the family 🙂
