What’s the best hotel to stay in Ushuaia, Argentina?

Alto Andino Hotel Review in Ushuaia

Ok so there are a ton of places you can stay in Ushuaia. Everything from Hostel to Hotel just like most other places. For a small town its not super cheap but there is always something that will fit your budget.

I stayed at the Alto Andino Hotel. I did some research online and these guys seemed to be the best for budget, style and location.

View
The hotel has views that would make a little kid wet his pants. It towers over most other accommodation and its only 4 stories high so by being part way up the hill is a massive plus. My room looked out towards the snow capped mountains, what can I say…outstanding.
L4 is where the bar/food area and it has a balcony facing the mountains and the front area when breakfast and lunch is serves is wall to wall glass looking out to the water and the sides to the mountain range. Its pretty much a 360* viewing platform! Amazing!

Complaints
The hotel is pretty amazing. It’s set back about 3 blocks from the water, about 3 min’s walk and most people online said that they were annoyed that their accommodation (not necessarily this hotel) was at the top of a hill and they had to walk up and down to the town. Now this is true but seriously, this hill they speak of is tiny. Toughen up people. I don’t even hike and I found this a molehill if anything!
You know what if anything it’s a plus as once you get to the hotel the views from L4 bar are simply breathtaking.

Room
The guys here were nice enough to place me in a suit so all I can give you is my opinion on that. I never saw what the other rooms were like.
The suit isn’t huge for a suit but its definitely big enough as in my case I’m generally only there to rest my weary bones.
The bed was a double but really its 2 singles placed together but was barely noticeable when I slept.
The room came complete with a flat screen and mini bar.
The bathroom was neat and tidy with nice glass screen in the shower/bath combo. Non of those rank shower curtains that seem to have a massive creepy tendency to cling to your body.

Food
I generally hit the town for my food although I tried the toasted sandwiches twice and they were great. Toasted cheese/ham is all-time. Also give the coffee with Baileys a go, goes down like a dream after a day in the cold streets.
